Definition by Merriam-Webster Dictionary
off·set : something that serves to counterbalance or to compensate for something else.
Global warming is caused by the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere from human activity, which is more than 80% Carbon Dioxide (CO2). This Carbon is emitted primarily from the burning of fossil fuels that provide the energy we use every day. Fossil fuels are burned in Coal and Gas Power Plants to generate electricity and gas for our homes and businesses; in our cars, flights and to create the food, clothes and other things we buy and consume every day.
There are different actions you can take to reduce your carbon emissions. For the rest that you can't reduce you can offset. Carbon offsets enable individuals and businesses to reduce the CO2 emissions they are responsible for by reducing carbon emissions elsewhere. Green Humans offers you a tangible and effective way to offset your emissions by lowering the emissions of a low income home.
